Do we need more driving distractions?

Do we need more driving distractions?

Do we really need more distractions when we’re driving? An article out of Sydney Australia says that car owners can soon upgrade the software systems on their car, upload apps and even interact with social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

There is even rumor of using tablets such as the iPad as a color screen for the car.

Here’s the deal, we are so focused right now on getting people not to talk and drive or text and drive and now you want to give drivers the ability to check their Facebook and Twitter status while driving?

Anyone who is currently a Facebook user knows that Facebook is addicting. How many times do you check you page in an hour to see if anyone has posted pictures or a good status update.

The last thing the world needs is more distracted drivers out there. I highly doubt that there is anyone out there so important that they need to be wired in to Facebook and Twitter at all times. And seriously, if you are that important, you’re probably better off alive…a gift you or some other driver on the road may not be so lucky to have if you’re driving distracted by checking your online status.

Technology and moving vehicles are dangerous together. So really, do yourself and everyone else a favor, don’t talk or text and certainly don’t update your Facebook or Twitter status either!
