BPM is a field of management focused on aligning organizations with the wants and needs of clients, vendors, and internal lines of business. It’s an approach that promotes effectiveness and efficiency, while enabling flexibility and integration with technology.
Through BPM, process improvement is continuously evaluated and improved. BPM is similar to other processes or systems like Total Quality Management or Continuous Improvement Process, but diverges in that this approach can be supported and enabled by technology.
Support through technology allows for management oversight, dynamic process improvement and monitoring. As such, BPM has two sides, or perspectives – the people, and the technology.
