About Us

Buffalo?  Really, Buffalo?

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Yes, we’re headquartered in Buffalo, NY, and we’re proud of it!  You think snow, and we think gorgeous summers with highs in the 80′s, low’s in the 70′s, and humidity that’s just right.   Sure, we’re national, with clients and sales teams across the US and into Canada, but it’s all managed from beautiful Buffalo.

Our History (and a bit more about Buffalo)

_______________________________________________________________________________________

We work with our clients, and help them realize their business goals by alleviating them of the worry about staffing, strategic projects, systems integration work, and upgrades.  We work on a variety of IT projects, and general staffing needs.

The company began providing professional services and consulting (mostly Mainframe based in our early years).  We began in Canada, supporting the nation’s banks, insurance companies, retail concerns, and government agencies. These services were typically around IBM’s mainframe product set.   By the mid 90′s, our services had grown and deepened to the point that IBM invited us to open a US office to provide a similar service to their clients in the mid western states.

Buffalo is a short 2 hour drive from Toronto, so it made logical sense to establish operations here to cover not just our Canadian clients, but also to begin to grow our US based services.

In more recent years, we have increased our scope and reach, while we still enjoy a strong relationship with IBM.  We are, however, no longer as ‘IBM centric’ as in those early days.  In point of fact, our revenue has moved from nearly 100% IBM derived, to less than 10% today.

At the same time, we have expanded by industry and geography, and now cover the majority of the US through both virtual locations (out of Buffalo), as well as with regional based account managers across the country.

Our more ‘vendor agnostic’ services today include staffing and consulting in Middleware (WebSphere, BPM, portals, ESB), systems management and administration, database management and administration, as well as network support and management on most major platforms and systems.

The company is far more than just a ‘search and staffing’ company.  We provide, instead, a full spectrum of professional services, including IT/IS support, training, and full executive search for both our IT, and non IT based accounts.

We have also always remained close to the ‘users’ of software, systems and products. As such, we maintain active associations and membership and management of and in a variety of user groups internationally, including:

  • The Southern Ontario (Canada) WebSphere Users Group
  • The Toronto CICS Association (executive member)
  • The Wisconsin DB2 Users Group (founding sponsor)
  • The Western Michigan WebSphere Users Group
  • The Wisconsin WebSphere Users Group
  • Share
  • IDUG
  • Countless others

We also engage as a speaker/presenter at various vendor technical conferences throughout the country. In addition, we enjoy participation in a few of our vendors’ early support and Beta release programs, which we are under non-disclosure agreement not to discuss in specific detail.

Furthermore, as a provider of IT training services, we have even broader access to ‘passive’ candidates, enabling us to present candidates, in many cases, who are updating their resumes for the first time in many years.

VMS Providers

_______________________________________________________________________________________

TxMQ works with many VMS providers, and our North American based teams ensure quick, accurate, on target candidate submission beyond established company guideline metrics.

Placements

_______________________________________________________________________________________

We work equally with contract candidates and permanent candidates, yet our results historically weight us at 40/60 permanent placements vs. contractors.

Our Results

_______________________________________________________________________________________

As a result of the depth and breadth of services offered, TxMQ has a database of thousands of individuals who are not active candidates, but highly qualified nonetheless.

In addition, the company subscribes to all major international job boards to supplement searches undertaken at client requests.

TxMQ’s focus has expanded throughout the years far beyond just ‘mainframe’ based skills, which now account for less than 25% of generated revenues.

These skill areas include:

  • All major ERP systems (including SAP, PeopleSoft, BAAN, and others)
  • Enterprise Application Integration (EAI)
  • Web services (SOA, ESB)
  • Database modeling
  • Administration (Sybase, DB2, Informix, Oracle, Sql)
  • Systems administration and engineering (all platforms)
  • Architecture (infrastructure, middleware, and database systems)
  • WebSphere and Weblogic application server based technologies and solutions
  • And more
